Grab a slice of the (wheat free) pizza action

I’ve just had a major breakthrough thanks to yet another works night out.

An email went round a while ago heralding the return of a long lost co-worker from Australia, and the inevitable dinner and drinks that come along with such occasions. I then found out we were going to an Italian restaurant that mainly served pizza and my enthusiasm really started to wane.

It seems I shouldn’t have been so down on my friend’s choice of venue (Dough Pizza Kitchen, Manchester) as it turned out they do a range of wheat and gluten free pizzas!

I haven’t been so excited in a very long time – much to the amusement of everyone else. People just don’t understand how annoying it is when everyone around you says, “let’s just order a pizza”. There are only so many potato wedges a girl can eat!

My pizza turned up and it was delicious. A few people around me tried a bit and said that it wasn’t as crispy and had a weird texture but I have to say I couldn’t tell the difference. Maybe it was just because I can’t remember what a pizza is supposed to taste like or because I’d had a few glasses of wine by that point but I was really chuffed. I will definitely be returning!
